1988
Ms. Maria Nalezyty, MD, introduces hippotherapy to multiprofile rehabilitation
of children with cerebral palsy. The Centre of Hippotherapy is organized in
Warsaw, at Wolica, at the stable of the Warsaw Agricultural University. The
therapeutic team of the Centre consists of specialists in the field of medicine,
rehabilitation, psychology, pedagogy, speech therapy and horse-riding, who conduct
therapy for children and young people with various diseases and developmental
problems.
1992
Members of the therapeutic team of the Centre of Hippotherapy and parents of
handicapped children establish the Handicapped Children Aid Foundation HIPOTERAPIA.
1995
As the first one in Poland, the Centre of Hippotherapy is included in the patronage
of the Polish Hippotherapeutic Association and is granted the right to become
a training centre for hippotherapists.
1997
The Riding Club of Special Olympic Games "Plaj" begins its activities
at the Centre of Hippotherapy.
2000
A horse-riding section "JORDAN" for people with movement disorders
is created.
